I’d like to take a moment to thank our generous donors who share in our belief that everyone in our community deserves access to high-quality mental health care. Your support ensures that our staff continues to receive the critical training and resources they need to be experts in their field. Your commitment to making mental health care accessible for all—regardless of language, income, or background—makes a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most. Thanks to you, Lena Pope is able to work with any family who needs our help, ensuring that no one is turned away.
At Lena Pope, we know that the heart of our work lies in the expertise and dedication of our staff. Every day, they bring compassion, professionalism, and a wealth of knowledge to their roles, always ready to meet the unique needs of the individuals and families in our community. Our counseling program is a great example of our agency-wide dedication to providing the best training for our staff so they can support the varying need in our community. This is why we invest heavily in providing our team with top-tier, trauma-informed training for credentials, such as TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Registered Play Therapist®, TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and other specialized modalities.
We understand that trauma takes many forms and can impact anyone, regardless of age or background. Our community is diverse, and the challenges people face are often complex. Because of this, we believe it is essential that our staff are equipped with the best possible tools to support everyone who walks through our doors. With trauma-informed and trauma-focused training, our staff can approach each client with the right strategies, ensuring they receive the care they deserve. Whether it’s a child processing past trauma or an adult facing mental health challenges, our staff are prepared for whatever comes their way.
In our commitment to serving all of our community, we are thrilled to have 12 Spanish-speaking therapists on staff. This allows us to better meet the needs of our growing Spanish-speaking population, ensuring that more families can access the support they need in their native language. We know that counseling is not always accessible or affordable, which is why we work hard to remove barriers to care. We accept most insurance, Medicaid, and CHIP, and offer financial assistance to families to ensure mental health services are within reach for everyone.

By prioritizing the ongoing education and development of our team, we are not only investing in their growth but also in the future of the individuals and families we serve. Our commitment to supporting our staff helps them stay at the forefront of best practices, and it directly translates to better outcomes for our clients. We truly believe that the more we invest in our people, the more they can invest in others.
Together, we are building a stronger, more resilient community. Thank you for your continued support and for believing in the power of accessible, trauma-informed mental health care.
Most Sincerely,
Ashley Elgin, Ph.D.
Chief Executive Officer, Lena Pope
