Family Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer as a family and make a difference together!

For nearly 100 years, Lena Pope has helped North Texas children and families thrive. Your family can be part of that mission through fun, meaningful volunteer opportunities designed for all ages.

Whether you have a few hours to give, want to make something special for a child, or are looking for a hands-on way to serve your community, there’s a place for your family at Lena Pope.

Before You Volunteer

We’re excited to have your family join us! To participate in a family volunteer opportunity, an adult (18+) must register as a volunteer through our family volunteer registration form.

As part of registration, adults 18 and older will be asked to complete a background check and sign the required waivers for themselves and participating family members. These requirements help us provide a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.

Please complete the volunteer registration form before attending a volunteer opportunity.

Upcoming Family Volunteer Opportunities

Gather your family and make a difference together. Our family-friendly volunteer events offer simple, meaningful ways to support children, families, and Lena Pope staff throughout the year.

Crafts for Clients – Saturday, September 19 at 10:00 a.m.

A handmade card or bookmark can make a meaningful connection. Families can spend time together creating cheerful bookmarks and encouraging cards for Lena Pope clients.

Bring your creativity and help brighten someone’s day with a simple, personal reminder that they are cared for and supported.

Birthday Kit Brigade – Saturday, November 14 at 10:00 a.m.

Every child deserves to feel celebrated on their birthday. During the Birthday Kit Brigade, families will assemble birthday kits for Lena Pope clients, helping children and families create special memories during an important milestone.

Staff Appreciation – Saturday, February 20 at 10:00 a.m.

Help us make Lena Pope staff feel appreciated for all they do for North Texas children and families. Families will work together to create thoughtful gifts and special surprises that remind our staff how much their dedication matters.

Spring Clothing Swap – Saturday, April 10 at 10:00 a.m.

Gather gently used children’s clothing from your home and help sort and organize donations for local families. This hands-on opportunity gives families a chance to declutter, give back, and help make sure children have clothing they need.
