Is there a cost to participate?
No! Family volunteer opportunities are free. Some special events may welcome donations to support Lena Pope programs, but donations are never required to participate.
What ages can participate?
Families of all ages are welcome! Most opportunities are designed for families with children, including children under 12. Specific activities may have age guidelines, so please check the details for each volunteer opportunity
Do parents or guardians need to stay with their children?
Yes. Children should participate alongside a parent, guardian, or other responsible adult. Families are encouraged to volunteer and enjoy the experience together.
Do we need to register in advance?
Registration is encouraged for volunteer events so we can prepare enough supplies and activities for everyone. Check the individual opportunity for registration details.
What should we bring?
Each opportunity may have different needs. Any required materials or supplies will be shared when you register. For donation-based activities, we’ll provide information about what items are needed and where to bring them.
How much time do volunteer opportunities take?
Most family volunteer activities are designed to be completed within a few hours. Event times and estimated volunteer hours will be listed with each opportunity.
Do we need previous volunteer experience?
Not at all! No previous volunteer experience is necessary. Our family opportunities are designed to be welcoming and easy to participate in, with instructions and guidance provided.
Can our family volunteer together as a group?
Absolutely! Families are encouraged to serve together. If you’re part of a larger group, school, church, or community organization, please contact us to learn about additional group volunteer opportunities.
